I am changing the throttle guides on my carburetors and found that Suzuki does not have part number for those, but BMW have the same part and they have part number for them. I ordered them, no problem.
So,
this might be silly question, but are the BMW throttle slides also compatible with my carburetor? Because it is really hard to find Suzuki slides anywhere, at least from Finland. I found few from ebay but with shipping it comes bit costly, so i could ask original BMW parts from dealer here if they are compatible (got the slide guides from them with reasonable price).
Does anybody know for sure is there any difference between these parts?
Suzuki part number is: 13501-01D00
BMW part number is: 13112343378
So....did you find yours are worn?
You need to ask a carb specialist.....a PROPER carb specialist who knows about Mikuni BSTs
Email these people and see what they say https://nrp-carbs.co.uk/

Thanks. I only looked them quickly but my slide guides were really worn, so i thought it would be good idea to change slides as well.
England is too far away?
Try Iowa, USA.
This man Derek knows his BSTs inside and out for decades and knows the GS500 very well. A nice person.
He can typically set you up and ship to you or advise.

Sorry Buddha!
I ended up ordering them from Germany. I live in Finland so no additional fees when ordering inside EU.
But now i feel like an idiot. I did change the slides and guides(these needed little bit fine tuning) and bike did not even idle anymore. Then i decided to check valve clearances once more, just so i could find that the whole timing in engine was off....
So i corrected it and now it idles ok. Still have to set jetting right and wait for the better weather to test drive.
