Post by: Yamaha5552 on March 25, 2022, 10:01:35 AM
Hello everyone, so I was hoping to get my bike in for its MOT today but the front caliper has siezed up, I just want a quick solution for now, does anybody know any calipers that are a straight bolt on, it's a 2003 model, many thanks

I'd clean and rebuild it.
Cool.

All GS500 calipers will be a direct bolt-on. 1989 - 2009 or whenever they stopped selling it in your country.

I don't know of any other calipers that bolt on direct without an adapter plate.

I agree with The Buddha though; a rebuild kit will cost about the same as a used GS500 caliper from ebay but then you will know all the parts are fresh. An eBay caliper might seize on you next week, and unless you can find a real nice one with low mileage that has been stored nicely. All the calipers are 10 - 30+ years old at this point.
