Title: GS500ET Pilot screw
Post by: andybb on July 03, 2022, 03:06:47 PM
Restoring carbs and managed to chew the pilot screw, luckily I managed to drill and remove it with a small bolt extractor but I have damaged the carb screw thread whilst I was ham-fistedly attacking it with a screwdriver :(  It looks like it can be saved if I gently run a tap through it, as far as I can find out on good old Google, Mikuni carbs use a a 6M - 0.5 pitch which is handy as you can easily buy a flat bottomed M6X0.5 tap.
Can anybody confirm if this is the right pitch ? Cheers.

Measured a spare mixture screw I have.

Yes, it's an M6x0.5mm thread.
