Title: Suzuki gs400 air box inlet (Mikuni BS34)
Post by: Phelicks on July 19, 2022, 01:42:06 PM
Hey guys, went on a saga to find the best alternative to make my bike run, and enjoy it. Originally the rubber boots connecting the air box to the carbs were shhhhhhhot, so went through the rabbit hole of using pod filters on cv carbs  :hithead:. Made it work ok, but the top end was non existent with a good filter.

So i had a wild Idea, what if i create the part? Its unavailable to buy and used parts will probably also be as good as a 40 year old rubber part will be, not great. So found another option.... 3D printing, but with a twist!

The original part slides in the air box by "forcing" a soft piece, so i found a soft material, TPU plastic making the assembly possible!

Long story short, made the change and wow, its the bike I wanted to ride! Pull great now and everything just work like it should!

If anyone is interested to have the file to print the part or if anyone wants more info to do the same thing with their bike, let me know it will be a pleasure to help!
