So... I let a buddy take my 2004 GS500F for a spin... he came back and had dropped it and it was making a horrible knocking sound. I went about 2 blocks and connecting rod snapped, so I'm searching for a new engine. From what I've read it's not worth rebuilding and the used engines on Ebay are quite pricey. If anyone can help me source a new engine that would be great. Thanks!
Keep an eye out on craigslist for neglected complete bikes. A lot of times you can find a bike that has sat outside for a period of time and has serious carburetor issues but an otherwise good engine and the whole bike will cost less than a good engine on ebay.
