So i was tinkering with heated grips and went to my mechanic to double check where i should place the positive/negative on the bike.
Succesfully installed, checked for a connection and it all seemed to be working. Then i lifted the key slightly while the ignition was on and all power disappeared. Checked the battery and sure enough 12/13v. Gauge lights/headlight/blinkers/electrical start/low&highbeam nothing responds anymore to me turning the ignition on.
Note that this all only happened after i slightly lifted the key in the ignition while it was on.
At a first glance i didnt see any place it could've shorted the circuit.
Does anyone know what this could be or how to help?
Not looking forward to try and run start the bike. Especially now that i dont know what the ramifications would be.
That does seem odd...
Have you checked the fuse ?

Yes, fuse seems fine, will be installing a new one either way just to be sure tomorrow.
Removed tail fairing but couldnt find anything that looked out of the ordinary. Also removed the battery for now (even though that still seems to work fine).
Will be giving my mechanic a call tomorrow to see if he knows anything...
Be sure you're checking the correct fuse. Suzuki gave us two on the bike... the one in use and a spare close by that many people mistake for the one in use.
