I installed a set of Nibbi PWK34's (Mikuni vm clone) on my 99 gs500. These are direct slide carbs (no cv vacuum). It runs and rides pretty good out of the gate and I have a wide band to make some more informed choices about jetting and air screw setting. Does anyone want details on the process? It was fairly easy all things considered. About $250 in parts altogether.
I never got the cv carbs to perform in a way I liked, nothing wrong with them however.
If you have the time, please do a write up!
