Just Chasing Amy here.
After going into the carbs of three GS500e past four months, 1993, 1996, 1999. The only one that runs perfect is the 1996, The 93 and 96 act the same with new carb kits. They take the same time to warm up. they both need a little butterfly value open to idle after warm up and neither will idle, if I do 2.5 , 3.5 or 4 turns of the needle flow mixture. The carbs are spot free all passages are cleared. All gaskets and washers. changed. They all look exactly the same. And all of the secondary fuel cut off switches are working fine. I even figured out the magic of putting the Airbox on properly. I bless the guy that tipped off to take the air filter out and stick your hand in to push and seat the carbs.
Other than idle without butterfly cracked they run the same at road speed throttle and rpm.
Interesting GS500 world.
More than about 2.5 turns is basically wide open, doesn't matter how many more turns. Fit a bigger pilot jet and Bob's your uncle.
Yea Mr72 is right. 40 non bleed pilots are what the Dr Bob ordered.
And no The air screws work all the way to maybe 5 or 6 out. Then you run the risk of them falling out.
Cool.
