Title: Fork Air Gap
Post by: clive3512 on June 14, 2024, 06:07:25 AM
Can anyone out there help, first off I'm talking about a GS500 K4 (2004).

I've been looking at a couple of manuals one is Suzuki GS500_E_F 1989-2009 Service Manual which states the air gap on the forks is 99mm.

I've also looked at a GS500/F Supplementary Service Manual which says use this manual with GS500E Service Manual (99500-34091-01E).

The point is the supplement is saying the air gap is 110mm, so which is the correct gap 99mm or 110mm??

Also, all the videos I've watched say nothing about renewing the copper washer which lives under the socket head screw in the bottom of the outer tube, shouldn't they be renewed to prevent oil leakage at the bottom of the fork??

My thanks to anyone who can advise
