Hello Everyone,
I recently bought a 2005 Gs500F and very new to motorcycles as well. Yesterday while riding my clutch gave in (it won't disengage at all). I somehow got home and parked in neutral. Checked this morning again same issue, I checked the cable seems okay, anyone have any suggestions what might be an issue and how can one resolve it? Any help will be much appreciated.
Check the clutch actuator, clean it grease it and adjust.
Is on the side cover, the sprocket cover
While you have the cover off, check and-or replace the shifter shaft seal. Personally, its cheap insurance to just replace it.
The clutch push rod also has a seal.
The gunk that is collected there is surprising.
Good time to also check front sprocket play and wear.
All the bolts have different lengths so put them in the same place
To help you out on the bolts, draw the cover roughly on some cardboard. Then poke the bolts threw the cardboard to hold your cover bolts in the correct location. It will save you much headache.
I would be concerned with the SCREW ASSY, RELEASE in left cover Includes Item(s) 25 - 26; IT'A WEAK DESIGN TO BEGIN, AND REqUIRES DISASSEMBLY, CLEANING, AND COATING WITH THIn BLACK GREASE FOR SMOOTH OPERATION. proper ADJUSTMENT IS ALSO NEcESaRY.

yes.
THATS THE CLUTCH ACTUATOR/rod--- clutch basket pusher
5 will get ya 10, he took it to a shop. Thus making this post an exercise in futility. At least it will serve down the line for someone else.
