I have a 2002 GS500 that had a super busted redneck-y exhaust system so I bought an OEM replacement for the full system (header and muffler) off of eBay. I looked into it quite a bit and nothing indicated that the design, specs, or part numbers have ever changed but as you can see it's like half an inch off from fitting. Maybe my fault as the exhaust I bought was off a 2009 bike. Tried with and without crush gaskets. Maybe I just need a second person to hold it? I'm not terribly enthusiastic about wrestling with this thing again. I could also try cutting off and rewelding the attachment point if there's truly no hope for me. If anyone's got any ideas on how I can get this thing installed please let me know...

Does the spot where the center stand butts against the exhaust rubber fitting line up ?
Cool.

I was able to go back to my bike today -- it turns out I am just stupid and needed another hand -- the exhaust lines up perfectly when you put the little tab in the right place...(the old one had it put together wrong and that's what I was referencing) Thank you sooooo much I really appreciate it!
