Hi!
The front brake lever on my 2005 GS500 is loose and has a lot of play. It is so loose that when the lever is at rest, it doesn't press on the microswitch that turns off the rear brake light. I'm thinking its down to one of the following:
either the pivot bolt is loose
or the plunger (or the thing that is pressed when the lever is pulled) is not fully dis-engaging.
Any tips on what I could do to figure out what is the issue? I could always just take it in but I would love to figure it out myself to save money (and time, mainly).
Although the lever itself is very mushy and likely could be safer, I'm thinking maybe I should just attach something to lever so that it depresses the microswitch? The fact that the brake light is on is the main issue I'm facing.
