Title: Bought my first bike today- 2000 SUZUKI GS500e of course
Post by: ACE on March 13, 2004, 04:49:32 PM
Well got to see the bike today for the very first time. Black and silver with gunmetal wheels. Rode great, plenty of power. overall i think it was the best decision for a first bike. I'm a brand new member and look forward to everything in the future on this board. Anyone live in the knoxville area?

Yeah, it comes on a CBR, a GSXR, FZR, YZF, Katana, or any other in-line four, but it's pretty impossible for a GS to sound like an in-line four without the other two cylinders.

heheh, that's the same thing i wanted to do when i got my GS...i belive my first topic was "how to get a GS to sound like a 600cc i4 bike"

well, the answer is: you buy a I4 sportbike
one of the reasons the GS sounds the way it does is because of the I2 cyl engine and 2 valves/cylinder

you can put a different exhaust can on you GS and it will sound a lot better then the stock GS...i put on a GSXR 750 can on my GS and it runs faster and sounds a lot better

i'll put on a video clip one of these days so you can hear how much better it is then stock

Congrats!  Good choice.
Had the bike 2 minutes and already thinking of mods. Spoken like a true GStwinner.
I have the same year and mine is still a virgin, so to speak, I certainly haven't touched the exhaust pipe. Lack of character, I guess.

Yeah it's a great bike, I tell you what after about 4000 rpm that bastard screams! it's pretty loud stock when you give it a rev. I cant wait to start riding, i have to get it registered and pay my dad back 225 dollars. so it will be about a month before it leaves the garage. Im so glad I didnt get a ninja 250. I about did.
