Title: GS dies when I put it into gear...
Post by: RagnaR on March 14, 2004, 04:11:39 AM
The bike starts up fine but when I put it into gear it dies immediately.

The lights, brake lights etc all work so isn't an electrical problem. It starts up fine so isn't a petrol problem.

Just when I put it into gear, also it won't even kick over when I try and start it while it's in gear. Nothing happens.

Anyone got any ideas?
Title: kill switch on the kick stand?

There is a kill switch on the kick stand, if the kick stand is down the bike won't start unless it's in neutral. As soon as you put it into gear it dies.

Maybe one of the wires to the switch has been damaged?

Thanx for reply, was the switch on kick stand.

Just went out and the stand wasn't going all the way up.

Now it works. Thanx again.
