Just to clarify everything for those wanting to contribute to Ken's package. Srinath will deliver it to him. If you want to send a check, send it to: Srinath Seshadri, 9227 Swallow tail lane Charlotte NC 28269 with "Ken's Care Package" in the address line somewhere. If you'd prefer paypal, you can paypal me at dan@octaneonline.com and add "Ken's Care Package" in the comments line. I'll send a check for the total to Srinath. Unless Srinath has paypal - then it'd be easier to send it to him. Chime in here Srinath.
I'll also be sending my spare tank (dk. blue - rust free) to Srinath for the package. I'd like to get $40 for it, which is quite a bit less than I paid for it. And I'll pay shipping. If anyone contributing doesn't think that's fair, please speak now!
Heal quick Ken!!
I have paypal... however I hate it... they take a decent sized bite out of it when you draw... ~4-5%... Checks help add a personal touch... I might copy the checks and add it to the package to show the wide range of people that pitched in.... Any thoughts... Nice meeting you Saturday Dan...
Cool.
Srinath.
I'll eat the paypal fee. I dont' know how many people will be keen on photocopies of their checks floating around. An electronic card or something might be nice.
Good to finally meet you too.
OK checks copies are bad ... OK I'll just keep names and handles then.
Cool.
Srinath.
like, what size of donation are we talking about here? i don't have much money, but i wanna help out a fellow GS'er, but i don't want to seem like a cheap-ass. so, what's appropriate?
Dan,
Sent you a Paypal this am.
Thanks all doing the legwork for Ken's care package!!!

Your choice... I am in for $10, and I met him a few times and was at that race... Some people from my work have also met him and they are in for 10 also... Just a rough guide. Send him a card if you want and dont send $$$, or like my wife says making a card is more personal ... its the gesture that counts.
Cool.
Srinath.
yeah, i might have to check into that. i'm not very artistically inclined, but i am a funny guy. maybe i can figure something out...
For those of us who are sending checks, who should we make them out to?
Yup, I got a few paypals. Thanks guys. I'll give it til Wed. morning and mail the check to Srinath.

Srinath Seshadri
I am in for $20. Just sent Octane a paypal. Ken better get well, I owe him a beer next time he is in Greenville.
We got the tank, what else do you guys want to get him. Looks like we're gonna have a bit of money. More than I figured. Ideas?
Does he need any other bike parts or gear?
I'll cut a check for $10 to Srinath tonight and get it in the mail tomorrow. If I can find a second to duck into the drug store, maybe I'll pick up a card as well.
Thanks for getting this together guys!

I'm not sure what he broke...besides his collar bone, a rack of ribs, and his tank! Srinath?
OK the tail section is broken I think... the fiberglass 1 piece, the clip on was bent into a impossible position... it was pointing almost straight down parallen to the fork leg... the rest of the bike looked remarkably un hurt... The case savers were clogged with grass... possibly explaining why the damage was light. The front frame piece on his bike was hand made from aluminum channel... and sorta twisted up, but its thin aluminum piece... I guess that is it... If any more comes to mind I'll post back.
Cool.
Srinath.
Count me in for $20 as well. I'll mail Srinath a check first thing tomorrow morning as i'm at work using a PC i should not be using...heh... :o
His tach was busted... like smashed against the triple... but its not a GS tach... Looked more like the older GSXR tach.
Cool.
Srinath.

Srinath.
I have an extra GSXR tach, one the older ones that start at 3000 rpms. It will plug into the one I have. Will gladly donate it if it will work for him.
Good :)
I have clip-ons 41 mm with yokes. katana parts
seshadri_srinath ask him if he need? I will ship it to him .
His forks were RF 900 and the clip on's went under the triple. Dguyver I'll let you know about the tach.
Cool.
Srinath.
Hmmm :( i thougt it was katana forks :(
Can you post parts list ?
tach, tach,tach.....only stock one :(
I'm in
Maybe throw in some gift cards to restaurants or something so that the wife can feed herself while she's away from the house (I don't know if they have any kids...) And I bet he'll need some new riding gear...
Anyways- I'm in. The people on this site ROCK!!
(I was just thinking that if I ever had a serious wreck, my wife would need some serious convincing before I could ride again- we definately have to butter her up. "Can Ken come out and play?? We promise we'll be good...")
No kids and that bird (he's posted pics before hasn't he) ... anyway they have a beautiful big parrot and 2 dogs.
Yes gift certificates are a good idea... but I dont know what his/her fav place is... some litte country place that's not on any map I'm sure... cos werase is like that. If its paved he wont buy a house on that road.... Some like that.
Cool.
Srinath.

That's a good idea. There's not much in Danville, anyone know of a chain up there? His wife would probably appreciate a place to eat and take a break while she's visiting.
srinath the check's on the way..
I am in... Srinath- wrote a check and I am walking it to the mailbox right now!
Something for his wife is a great idea. :thumb:
As for gear, a gift certificate at Marietta Motorsports (1-888-FASTLAP or www.1888fastlap.com) would be useful. Since they all are racers, if they are told who this is for they may be a little generous.
I'm in too. I hope Ken heals quick and gets back on the bike before he goes crazy with boredom! Thanks to the people of GStwin for doing this for him (and octane/srinath for organizing), its a great idea and everyone in the GStwin family is awesome for supporting it!! Best wishes Ken, we're all pullin for ya! :thumb:
I am sending $10.00 tomorrow. This is awesome. I hope he gets well soon.
i'm in. check will be in the mail tomorrow if we're not snowed under tonite.
jake
Thanks to everyone who contributed. If you paypal'd your contribution to me, please PM me with your email address and your GS twin name if it's not obvious, so I can list your name when I send the money to Srinath on Wednesday. Most of you I know, but there are 2 I can't put together. Thanks.
Quote from: dgyverDoes he need any other bike parts or gear?
I havent read all the posts yet so this may be a repeat- He'll need a new helmet too right? That would be a good way to spend or earmark the money...replacement protective gear. We want him to survive the next one too.
Srinath, I'm sending a check tomorrow too.
"The check's in the mail"... wow... so that's what it feels like to say that and really mean it!
I'll get a check out tomorrow morning. Get well Ken!
Ok...checks in the mail payable to Srinath. Please send my regards and best wishes. And once again...Heal Quick Brudda...!!!
