Title: Swingarm extentions anyone?
Post by: ACE on March 15, 2004, 08:14:16 PM
just curious if someone has done a swing arm extention on their gs?
Title: Around...

Around here they extend swingarms on everything... I believe they are honestly afraid of those ZX12's and the GSXR 1000's... but I have also seen 600F2 with stretched swingarms... ergo I guess they are really afraid of turns... so my Question is... are you afraid of turning..
Cool.

i think the longer swing arm looks bad ass and is good for drag racing......but that's about it :(

Well, it's not like you're going to have trouble with wheelies on the GS.  Long swingarm keeps the bike planted while drag racing.  I've seen the long swingarm on some ratbike looking things in Japan.  Some of them look like props from a Mad Max movie!

Jim,is that your gs,?.with the bandit swingarm.did it fit in ok.?.

Do you know if, a rvg250 swingarm will also fit the gs500,?.

If so,will it need the rvg rear wheel<?>or will any other fit.

or will the gs rear wheel fit ok,?.

                        Tony

Servus,

its easy to put the Bandit Swingarm in the GS. You can use all things from the Bandit: Wheel, Brake and Swingarm.

Also fits a swingarm from the RGV 250 and the Wheel and Brake.

Yes its my GS.

i am almost positive (99%)
that a katana600(89-98 style)swing arm  is same as a GS
i have seen several Kat SA that have been chromed/streatched
should be easy to find

An extended bling arm is an absolute must if you want to impress the chicks around here ... of course they cannot tell between a swing arm and a freaking hole in the ground ... but the bling ... yea the bling is a must have ...
BTW a GS will pop its front wheel if you pulled it up with a cherry picker maybe ...
Cool.
