Title: Racing: Catch can question
Post by: Adam R on March 17, 2004, 02:16:34 AM
When mounting a catch can, what do you do about the valve cover breather tube's filter?

Can I just route the breather hose into the catch can, add a vent to the can and forget about the filter?

Don't forget to cut the hose at an angle so if buts up against the bottom it won't plug it off . Also you can make the breather hole bigger in the breather cap. RG

Is there a pressure problem when racing the gs that calls or a bigger breather hole?

Not so much a problem as much as the faster you run the motor the more you need to vent what's going on inside . My bike has 2 vents, the normal one thats hogged out to the max and another one to help. In some hot rodding applications they even use a vacuum pump to evacuate any pressure that might give the pistons any resistance when they're on the down stroke
