Title: Slides stuck
Post by: CasiUSA on March 17, 2004, 05:28:36 PM
Once again, the crap box was having problems starting, so off with the carbs it went. It has been about 2 weeks since I last assembled the carbs, and I have done a pretty fair amount of riding.
I took out the carbs, and noticed the left one seemed to be having a problem with the slide being slow to go up and down. Upon further inspection & disassembly, I removed the spring only to find it was bent. Any advice on what could have caused this? It's not a big deal ($4 from bikebandit), but I wanted to know if this was most likely just a random occurence, or possibly something wrong with another part of the carbs. Thnx

There's not really a whole lot that could kink the slide spring short of a ham fisted mechanic...have we been working on the bike?!!

just wanted a re-assuring response that I was the world's greatest mechanic and that the bike breaks itself :dunno:

Don't feel bad, we're all ham fists from time to time. I've done more than my fair share of breaking crap in the process of fixing something else. That's how you learn.
Title: PM...

Hey got your PM... I do have springs lying about somewhere... might be better off though if you replaced both springs with matched ones... like new ones... cos mine are definitely un matched. Came from various carbs form various wreckers. At $4 shipping from bandit will be more $$$. You might be better buying the thing from a dealer. Or buy the jets and the springs from bandit and pay the same $10 for shipping on all. I dont mind selling you my mians and pilots but looks like you have to deal with the bandit anyway...
Cool.
