Well this weekend i'm going to rip my bike apart and install progressive springs [thank god I have an air ratchet :thumb: ] and then I'm going to attempt to re-jett....I've read the mod. page here abaout a dozen times and I'm pretty sure what I'm doing. My question is I'm running the a KN fitler that goes is basicaly an OEM replacement filter for the stock air box...I can't see that is allows alot more air flow. Is that WHAT everyone calls the POD filter? Any hoot i'll also have a cobra slip on installed by week's end. I'm thinking 140's w/ 1 washer or maybe 145's...not really sure they make 145's...What's your guy's take, to rich?
Just as a point of reference does anyone have the #er for the POD K&N filter?
thanks for all the help
Jason
the pod filter is the filter that attaches to the carbs, so the air box is eliminated.
if you want to use the filter you have with the box then rejett with a smaller main jet but i would suggest geting a new pod filter for $30 for www.usdieselparts.com
the part # RU-2970
Yes 127.5 mains... that does allow more air flow but its still choked off by the airbox... The Individual pod is called pods, and the 1 Lunch box sized K&N that goes over the 2 carbs is called pod... the heck with that... lets just call it lunch box pod. They take off so much back pressure from the airbox... its not even close.
Cool.
Srinath.
which one is the lunch box pod? RU-2970?
So, is the RU-2970 the best one to get performance wise for our bikes? And if I buy that from the US Diesel guys, will that be everything I will need for the install?
Thanks,
Scott
PS- Sorry to halfway hijack the thread...
http://www.usdieselparts.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=53843 is the link for lunch box pod. That's the only thing you need for a stage 3 for an air filter. Then jets 150/40/3 turns/1 #2 washer per carb and pipe are a complete DIY stage 3 jetting package. Cool.
