Title: Another crash
Post by: TR on March 23, 2004, 11:21:51 AM
It seems to be like a epidemic, a series of crashes. This time was me. My bike was hit from behind by a cab when slowing down to corner. I just felt the push were lifted over the bike and thought "ya me llevo la chingada", the helmet hit first and sounded line a nutshell, then I hit the ground, the cab passed by pushing the bike for 50 meters. I am ok, no broken bones, my head is perfect, only bruises and scratches on arms and legs and knees. We also say "La tercera es la vencida" so I hope no more crashes happen again for a long while.

The bikes damage include right side panels and mirror of the TCP fairing, the right side engine cover, the muffler folded against the swing arm and completely scratched, breake lever folded, seat side panels, and perhaps front fork slightly twisted. The bike might have started but battery didnt, so engine couldn't be turned on.

Wish you all good luck!

Yowza!! Glad to hear you're ok. Did someone at least get a plate #?

yeah! plates and everything, the cab didnn't run, but it take an mazingly long time to get the insurance guy to come and fix everything. The bike is now at the proper garage and I went for some Xrays and pills, etc... Thanks.

OH... glad you are fine... Those cabbies are the same in any damn place... no matter what country/city you are... good grief couldn't one of them learn to drive... or better yet... drag them off their cab and put them in a bike and make them commute on it for a year... that'll teach them about vulnerability. Heal up, dont hurry that, and hound the insurance for all your rights.
Cool.
Srinath.

Sanityfree, do you mean a "perfect head"? well, one out of two, there is no obvious damage, nor pain on it, never lost conciousness and still am able to program in C language, he he... or... the hit kicked my neurons to meke them work better than before... who knows...

I am glad you are okay.
Why did the cabbie push the bike 50 meters ? He must of been moving real fast or he is just a complete moron.

Title: perfect head, c language?
Post by: richard on March 23, 2004, 03:48:23 PM
Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but as a programmer myself I've always felt that you have to be slightly abnormal in the head to program in the C language anyway... ;-)  particularly since if you don't enjoy it, you won't be very good at it.

I like the challenge myself, but hey, I've never claimed to be normal... and come to think of it, I did hit something with my head going down on a bicycle...  :thumb:

glad you're okay... and that you still have at least a perfect "programmers" head.   :guns:

Richard, you got a point there, it wasn't my intention to show off a "perfect" head, I only made a joke... but I do enjoy those third generation languages.

John, the cab simply didn't break or tried to run away, don't know for sure, I just felt a bulk passing by and knew somehow it was pushing the bike, which I confirmed later but noone told me what happened, from a different point of view. Mine was very much reduced for the helmet and the horizontal position I had.

Good to hear you're OK, and sorry to hear about the bike; it's one of the prettier ones on the board.  Could you translate the passages for us, por favor?

Quote from: Rema1000Hey, maybe they can fix your TCP fairing... by replacing it with a GS500R fairing!

That idea crossed my mind, at least if they pay the TCP fairing money I could buy a brazilian GS500R fairing this time, or at least get a GS500F one... but first have to worry about them to fix/pay this one...
