Title: Float valve
Post by: Scud on March 26, 2004, 11:30:29 AM
First off thanks to everyone for helping me with the sv650 shock mod! Now I have run into a new problem. I took my carbs apart and my floay valve rubber tip thing is a lil tore up? In my manual it says to replace it if it is. Anyone have one for sale or know of where I can get a hold of one. Thanks!

If you want to do a full rebuild on the carb, try the Rebuild Kit from PartsNMore (https://www.partsnmoreonline.com/PNMSite/Carb%20Rebuild%20Kit%20Suzuki%2048-1947%20GS500%20GSX1100.htm).

And if you get one, please report back on the ordering experience.  Nobody else has 'fessed up yet!

Otherwise, maybe someone with a spare carb can just send you the needle.

is that kit you linked to good for a 1996 GS500 model?
I'm debating now on buying one.

The web page says GS500E K-P (89-93).

As far as I know the carbs didn't change until the 2001 model year.  The gaskets and other parts look just like the ones on my (now Richard's) 1996 and 1999 bikes.  You could try comparing the BikeBandit part numbers for the gasket kit items for 1993 and 1996.

I would do the checking FOR you, but it's 4:00 AM here in India, this hotel wireless connection is expensive, and I gotta get to BED!

I just got it taken care of here at a local shop. K&L makes just the valve thing I needed for $8 so hopefully it works. Im just waiting on my other parts and gas tank to come back from being cleaned out and sealed to fire it up.
