Title: Exhaust makes coughing noise
Post by: RagnaR on March 31, 2004, 05:21:56 AM
When I am coasting down a hill or around a round-a-bout and have the accelerator off and then apply the accelerator there is this coughing noise that comes from the exhaust.

I doubled a friend home at night and he said he saw flames at the exhaust.

So I guess there is to much fuel in the ignition area. But this only happens when I roll on the eccelerator.

Any ideas?

Flames  :nana: Sounds pretty bad ass, but I can see how it could be worrysome...

Wish I had a clue...  :dunno:

I wouldn't desribe it as a backfire as that is a loud bang. It's more a soft cough or spit sound.

Flames was a bit dramatic, he said he saw blueish flash :)
