Title: Fuel line size on a 2001 GS500
Post by: Scottso on April 02, 2004, 09:49:23 AM
I hate the small details.. anyway, what is the fuel line size on the 01 GS? I want to put an inline fuel filter but their are two sizes to pick from. I askk this assuming that the GS500 doesn't have a fuel filter stock anywhere. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

5/16" is the size I put on my 1991. Don't know if the lines are the same, but I think they might be. The inline filter is a great mod, you'll be surprised at what it catches. Try and make sure you get a clear one, easy to check.

For a fairly complete discussion of this topic, see the thread A question to the GURUS

You are correct-a-mundo.  That is, if you don't count the in-tank filter.

When I bought my bike used it had an inline fuel filter already on it.  Do you know how long these things are supposed to last?  i.e. 5,000 miles... 20,000 miles?  Hmmm.

ASLAM.

Hey, thanks for the responses. Perhaps it would be better to find a 7mm aftermarket in-line filter now. There goes Murphy with those laws again..
