Title: gsxr carbs on the gs
Post by: Reknelb on April 05, 2004, 07:38:56 PM
OK, I grabbed a set of gsxr carbs on ebay a couple weeks ago. Now I have to space them out to fit the gs. My question is do you normally just use the spacers and "t" connectors off your gs carbs? Reason I ask is, I don't have any stock carbs, so I can't ust do a trial and error thing. So if ust using the spacers off the gs is what I have to do, does anyone have a crap set of stoc carbs they want to sell me? or maybe ust the spacers and "t" fittings?

already got the 36mm GSXR carbs on a 500 rack, (Came with the bike/boxes of parts) no jets in them yet, will be building my engine shortly, need to get new crank bearings and CB Shaft bearings (didnt ballence CB as i ran outa cash, How ever im looking into having the left end of the CB turned down to fit a Spacer the same size as the one on the right side of the shaft, next to the drive gear)  still need stock Tubes and needles for my stock carbs, let alone the 36's. however i believe starting off with that standard 40 pilots and going with 160's to start should be ok ballpart with stock cam's/timing  BUT DYNO IT ANYWAY.

c'mon I know a bunch of you guys have the gsxr carbs. I do have access to a dyno but multiple runs on a freshly built motor isn't my idea of proper brea-in. I'd like to have it close enough so I could get some heat cycles through the motor, then slap it on the dyno for some fine tuning. Any ideas for the "T" fittings? I can mae a spacing bar easy enough, ust need to come up with something for the "t"

I stole the pic from another section of gstwin.
You can see the "t" fittings. Are those spacers on each side of the "t" fittings, or is it ust part of the carbs?

If I didn't have my carbs out getting cleaned etc, I'd take a peek for ya, sorry man!  I'd be frustrated as well!
