Between 5 and 6 grand, in fourth particularly, but other gears to a degree, accelerating or decelerating, the gas tank buzzes, mirrors too. The pegs and seat don't vibrate. It's puzzling. Anyone else encountered this?
It's normal.

My 91 does it... my 89 does not. Anyway the reason I believe is the rubber bushings on the sides on the tank are either worn out or missing. I found one on my driveway last weekend :x ... and its now making a nice accoustic echo... through the tank and inside it and on the skin... and I hear 8 octaves and its beautiful :? ... just like a duc monster.
Cool.
Srinath.
Thanks, scratch. I actually checked the mounting bolts and all seemed OK. I'm glad it's no big deal. I might look for anything else that might be loose, but this little beast sure runs good. :) Accelerating over a small hill in town the other day it tried to wheelie. 8)

Maybe I just need to tune my tank.
Yeap I get this too. Actually the rearsets seem to vibrate alot around 6000-7000RPM. Sometimes I'm nervous it will make my feet numb while riding if I don't move them. Not a good situation :o
ASLAM.
Mine too, but only when my gas gets to aroung a half a tank, anyother time it doesn't.

That's it! If you drill a row of small holes in the tank, you really free-up the fuel flow , the stock tank is too constricted ;)
I spent a summer trying to figure out a vibrating noise I had....fairly disconcerning.....until I layed up on the tank to listen closer...and what do you know it stopped!
