Title: Stock parts weights and part cross reference?
Post by: dgyver on April 10, 2004, 09:37:10 AM
Anyone have the actual weights on stock street parts...like the exhaust system, air box, handlebars, center stand, headlight, and all the street stuff not needed on a race bike?

I was providing some of the weight info to a member of another board who is gathering all the info he can on various bikes to put on his web site. After weighing all the parts from various bikes I have, it made me wonder what my GS weighs now.

Also, any cross reference of parts that are made for one bike but fit on another would be welcomed.

sorry, I only have Motorcyclist's wet weight spec of 424 pounds.  Seems like there's a bit of weight that can be lost with aftermarket parts.

maybe someone else has weighed their exhausts?  I wonder is anyone has noticed a acceleration difference with wider rear wheels because of the weight difference

2 x 6 and a bathroom scale will get you verry close
weigh one wheel at a time    the 2 x keeps the bike level
