Okay, so I'm getting a set of brand new Pirelli Sport Demons mounted tomorrow and here's my question...
I took off both wheels, as per the Clymer manual, and now I'm wondering if I should remove the brake discs as well... so, should I? They look kind of in the way, but then again they shouldn't be. I went ahead and removed the sprocket (since its easy) on the rear. But just couldn't decide on the discs... just curious what everyone else does.
Obviously, I'm taking just the wheels to the bike shop instead of the whole thing, much easier in my opinion...
Thanks,
Scott
If you're taking the wheels off to take to shop for tire mount/balance only you just need to pull the wheels and take them in as is-rotors, sprockets, etc all stay on.
What Pablo said. (Just in case you want a second opinion.)
At one shop, whenever I dropped off my rear wheel and new tire, the mech would pull an inner spacer or something off of the wheel and hand it back to me. He said it just got in the way of their mounting/balancing equipment, and they didn't want to misplace it.
The other shop I have gone to never mentioned it, so either I unwittingly took it off myself or they had no problem leaving it on (or replacing it themselves).
Thanks guys, that's pretty much what I was thinking. I already took out the spacers so I should be good to go.
