Title: once again a clutch problem
Post by: Puunjob on April 14, 2004, 01:51:46 PM
Got the top in cleared up but my new clutch is special needs or I am

Anyway I drop the clutch and the rpms go way up and then the bike slowly accelerates if I ease out the clutch and slowly crank on the throttle it works fine but if I try to crank it it jumps to about five thousand I think I may of put the plates on wrong would startingor ending with metal plate account for this

The order the plates go in IS IMPORTANT!
The first plate to go in is a friction plate. Then metal-friction-metal-friction.
Finally ending with a friction plate.
Then you need to re-adjust the clutch cable mechanism and cable slack.
Don't ride the bike the way it is working right now or you'll fry the clutch plates!!!!! :nono:  :nono:  :nono:
