wow,  for 100 more cc's that bike will kick the crap out mine.  Oh well, at least he will be cool to ride with and won't leave me chasing him all over the place.

THanks guys,
Matt

Well, isn't the Katana engine based on an old GSXR engine?  Things are probably engineered a whole lot better.  Probably winds up a lot faster and gets that heavy bike moving :)

Man, that surprises me. I've ridden old Katana 6's and they don't FEEL that much faster than the GS.

Yup Octane is right... its probably faster up on top... Maybe by 10-15 mph. But through mid range and low end not much better than a GS. Ironically a bandit 4 will do almost the same thing. Maybe less grunt down low for B4.
Cool.
Srinath.

My friend has a B4 with jet kit, pod filters, full exhaust, and sprockets - quite a bit of work, but all simple things and the thing rips up Katanas - as well as my GS. The B4 doesn't make much power down low, and you need to keep the revs up to keep it in the power, but it redlines at 15 or 16,000. Quick little bike.
