apparently local news says it was a gust of wind...
she should have been riding on left part of the right lane if it was any wind...
OUCH!!! Thats a rough way to learn a riding lesson...
ouch.
I noticed that it was one of those curving onramp bridges. Adelita is deathly afraid of riding over bridges on her bike, and curving ones are worse. She was once in tears after crossing over a bridge in New Orleans that had a nasty sharp offramp over 100 ft off the ground.
Dollars to doughnuts she freaked out and stood the bike up and ran wide until she smacked into the outside retaining wall. Wind won't make that much of a difference to a Honda Shadow.
I know that ramp well, it's a decreasing radius turn. I woudn't be surprised if she freaked out and failed to correct for it, pulled up instead of leaning more.
Just my 2 cents: I've ridden one of those 600 Shadows and they actually steer like a car. Steer right to go right. It's really freaky.
If she freaked out and grabbed the brakes then definitely probably ran right into the wall. Hopefully everything turns out well with her.
ASLAM.
we had a simialr accident here in reno nv about 6 months ago. only this guy died. don't remember his name but he lost control of his bike going something like 120 and drunk if i remember correctly hit the guard rail, flew off his bike landed in a tree then fell from the tree into the truckee river. he was found the next morning. all the witnesses remember seeing was a bike shooting down the road without a rider anywhere to be found
