Title: Replacing blocky stock rear brake light on pre 2000 gs
Post by: dublinjail on April 22, 2004, 05:35:44 PM
Really getting sick of the stock rear brake light on my 97gs. Really sick of it, looks like a block taken off of a mid80's ford, anyone know of a replacement?

Not really a replacement, but for my '92 I bought a clear taillight lens and Jeff D's LED lights and it looks much better

try installing it upside down. several here have done it and looks much better. You lose the license plate light though.

you should also check out Levellers site in the UK, in particular check out this thread showing what a great job he did on hid 2001 model. Yours isnt the same being the older model but it should give you ideas.

or you could swap the entire tail section bodywork with new taillights s in these threads:
some photos of custom fiberglass work:

or these:

or Levellers latest incarnation - his streetfighter (I'm guessing he crashed his fully faired gs since its got the USD forks and all...

wasn't there some talk for awhile about R1 taillights fitting the GS? or am I confused with the replacement R1 tail-end discussion?
