I know there have been tons of threads on this but i just wanna know what is the best chain lube. If you can give me a brand name...how often to use it....price....where to get it.
also chain tighten info...how often should this be down...what tools...can somebody point me to a page number in the clymers manual.

I use The lube oil from my Power Drill.
It is for lubrication of all mechanical parts in HILTI power drills.
Works awsome and no mess!! :mrgreen:
If you lube it every 600 miles as recomended I don't think it makes a lot of difference, I use an "own brand" chainwax spray from one of the big spares companys over here. A Scottoiler which works almost constantly uses something very like straightforeward engine oil, if all else fails there's always WD40 or one of its many clones.

Im only saying this cos my experiance of them has been great. Ya only really need to prime them once if ya keep them topped up, You always have a nice clean chain, and your chain life increases massively, and less adjustment.
Also, when ya clean your bike you will notice how good they are. Never chain oil on your back wheel, just dust which cleans off wiv soap and water!!!!!!!!!!!!

wd40 = :nono:
bad idea. wd40 dries out, and causes advanced wear.
what is a scottoiler? never heard of that before... :dunno:
