Title: Arai helmets
Post by: newbieone on April 23, 2004, 07:59:29 PM
What up, after the long and hard search for the right helmet, I found one. I didn't plan on spending very much and when I thought I wasn't going to find anything in my price range. I checked out ebay and I'll be damn I was staring at an Arai Renegade in XS. I have tried on every small helmet I could find and all of them were to big still or just a little to loose for me. anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew where to get some cool graphics and a tinted or whatever. anyways, post up some suggestions. Thanks guys/gals

If you fit an XS or smaller, you should have no problem picking up good helmets on closeout cheaply.  Try //www.starcycle.com for one, and then you can try other companies.  Perhaps you can find a XXS/

Aight thanks, but I already bought a helmet.  I just need another visor and maybe some cool graphics bc the helmet I bought is black and I want to be noticable on the streets. Thanks again, but come people I know someone here has an Arai renegade helmet with some sheilds for it. where did you get them?!

Graphics... find an airbrush place near you (there is one in the flee market by me) and they will usualy do an outstanding job, :thumb:  after that, just paint a clear coat. Be carful with this though (2 reasons) :nono:

1) The DOT sticker must be on the helmet for you to pass inspection.

2) Some paints will weaken the shell, so read all the lables!!!

I don't really want to paint it, just wanted some stickers so that I could remove them easily if I didn't like them. Anyways, I'm not as worried about the graphics as I am the sheild.  I found a tinted one on the net for like $15 is that average price. I would really like to find one of those transition ones, anyone have one?

Nope, you got the wrong guy on the graphics question.  I try to only know USEFUL information!

Seriously, I'm a conservative 41-year-old who isn't into "Bling!" of almost any kind.  Sorry....

Notice the boring all-white helmet?   :? That's what I'm talking about.

PS - I DO have tinted visors for my HJC CL-12, for long rides in the bright sunlight.  I ordered them at the local Suzuki dealer, where I got the helmet.

EDIT: Changed link from sisna.com to bbburma.net.

I'm not worried about "bling" just wanted to be noticed by other drivers since my helmet is just black. Anyways, I would like to get another visor instead of having to wear sunglasses which can get a little uncomfortable.

Kerry man, I am disappointed! hehe, jk, I didn't really think you were into the bling.

Thanks though.

I apologize for assuming that you were looking mostly for "Bling!", and for smugly condemning it.  "Bling!" or not, it's your choice, not mine!  :)

Besides, I guess visibility IS a valid reason for some of the eye-catching graphics on motorcycle gear these days.  I'm hoping that my all-white helmet will do the trick, but I may be overly optimistic there....
