Title: Got my new Nelson Rigg cover and tankbag...
Post by: manofthefield on April 24, 2004, 01:05:31 PM
I am very happy with both, the Defender 2000 cover and MG950 tankbag.  Both are well constructed and the tankbag has many useful features.  I kind of wish the tankbag was just a little bit bigger as it doesn't quite fit a normal sized notebook in it, at least not easily.  But I won't have to worry about that until fall when i go back to classes.  I'll most likely have my backpack with me anyway.

I did find a great place to store the tankbag when I'm not using it though:

It's a suzuki gel seat, came with the bike, and yes it's pretty damn comfy.  I say that without comparison to the stock seat though.  I did a quick search and found this recent discussion about the seat (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1111&highlight=suzuki+gel) and where to find it.  There are a lot more old posts about too.

Tankbag on the bike:

I rode around trying to get some good pictures of my bike for the WoF, but 1.) It was cloudy and grey out and 2.) My digicam sucks, it was low end 3 years ago when I got it for graduation, and 1.3 megapixels just doesnt cut it.  Maybe I'll post one of the pics anyway :dunno:

Thats cool, thanks for posting the pics. I have been wondering how the bags looked and functioned. They seem nice, I may have to pick me up one.

thanks

actually the pics look awesome..

Anycase.. its a nice tankbag.. I think the magents are bit too powerful.. careful when putting the side skirts on to the center magnet.. dont get a finger caught in between.

Is the bag mounted "backwards"?  I can't tell which end the map is inserted from, and I'm surprised at how much of the bag is forward of the magnets.  Maybe it's just the angle in that first photo.

In any case, it does look like a nice bag!  Anybody want to 'fess up to how much it costs?
