Title: handlebars bent
Post by: bmagnant on April 26, 2004, 07:09:36 PM
I dropped my gs500e today :dunno:  and i bent the handle bars alittle.  My question is it possible to bend them back... if so do i use a torch.  the bend is not bad i can ride with it but it is noticeable.  If they cant be bent where is the best place to get a replacement bar.  Thanks
Bob

You could try using a long bar for leverage to pull them back straight. Or as I used to do to my dirtbikes, whack the bars with a rubber hammer / mallet. I've had them turn out very well.

Ed's method is worth-while checking into, but if you are a prefectionist like me only some new ones will do.  Hit srinath up.  Not bad for $40+/- can beat it.
