Title: MY BRAND NEW TIRES ARE WIERD!!!
Post by: ACE on April 26, 2004, 08:02:26 PM
well here's the story, im doing about 5-10 mph and there is a puddle on the road left from the storm (roads are 90 % dry) so I rev it up to about 8 or 9 and dumped the clutch   figuring it would spin off and screech once it hit the dry stuff. Well what happend next shocked the sh!t out of me. :o  As soon as you know it my front wheel gets about 3 feet off the ground during the launch.

I got some cheap kendas and they are obviously great in wicked weather considering it gripped the way it did. just thought id mention. good cheap tires :thumb:

That probably wasn't the smartest nor the best way to test tires.  When you were sitting in the puddle, the weight of the bike pushed the water the sides of the tires and left a relativly dry contact patch for the tire. However, try that at speed (hence hydro-planeing) and you could have been hurt.  Leave that tire testing to the experts man! But im glad you like your tires.  :thumb:

i love to do that , when i pull in my driveway there is a ton of leaves on the ground before the concrete. rev it up to 6 or 7 grand, lean forward, and dump the clutch. with a little pressure on the front brake, i got it to smoke a couple times. my neighbors love me. of course, you could always smoke it at a dead stop. my favie.  :thumb: anyways...

can anyone tell me why my rear tire wears in the center and not on the sides?! :dunno:

Are there ANY curvy roads in Florida?

Straight line riding will do that every time.  :x

Florida roads are as flat and straight as boards, and Orlando is no exception.  I've heard that there's some curves and terrain out in the boonies north and west of the city, out towards Ocala.

I saw what they are doing to the old Navy base I used to be stationed at  :o  Talk about urban renewal... planned town.
