Naw, if nothing else Ducati or one of the Jap factories will buy them up.
Bummer. :( I really like Aprilia's.
I thought MCN was supposed to be the tabloid of motorcycle reports :dunno:
I'd take what they report with a grain of salt, especially their new model reports
I just read on Cycleforums a little more about this. It looks like they shut down scooter production and Italian govt is helping them pay some of the employee wages for now. The motorcycle division is business as usual as far as I can tell
I've heard some rumblings about this in recent weeks. Evidently Aprilia's sales are hurting in the US because the weak dollar forces Aprilia (as well as other Euro manufacturers) to either cut their profit margins or raise prices. I also heard that Aprilia was willing to sell Moto Guzzi to Ducati in order to keep its head above water. What a pity that companies that make great products can't make a profit, while the Chinese are flooding the bottom end of the market with cheap sub-250cc knockoffs.
funny, I actually thought about getting one of those 50cc aprilia RS50 things. ha so sloooooooowwww!! but the rsv is nice.
sucks though, kinda like em.
well it was a bad omen when collin edwards caught fire  on his bike when he was riding for aprilia in da motogp
The Pound-Euro-Dollar issue is pretty big with what is left of manufacturing in Europe, probably end up getting them built in China but that's another thread somewhere. Great if us Europeans want to wander westward, last time I did that for any real time was 90/91 when I got two dollars for a pound instead of the "normal" 1.3/1.4 ish, currently it's about 1.8 to the pound and just under parity with the Euro. Be no-one here soon, all be in Florida/Cali along with the mouse.
