Please hel i'm on trouble, i've removed decals in the tank and now i have 2 viod places to fill out!
Thank you!
Rob
What year is it?
The later ones are that 33j - pearl novelty black.
But some of the earlier blacks are just plain black.
Hi Jamesg!
Well document says is 1994 but on the color codes seems to not match in this year.
1993 color codes seems better match....
Yes seems black but is "shyny" if you look closer?
Thanks for reply :thumb:
Rob
Pearl isn't just shiny - it's sparkly.
Yeah does it have a slightly blue metal flake tint to it?
Hi Octane!
Well for my english shyny or sparkly means similar things!
If whith "sparkly" you means look like those little points (at a closer look) that brights yes is sparkly.
Anyway i'm right with j35 on your advice?
Thanks!
Rob
Yes the flakes/sparks are bright and blue, but are visible only if you look closer!
Thanks!
Rob
By your description I'd say yes, you're right. I've never seen a bike that old with pearl finish from the factory though.
Ok Octane Thanks!
I've get the color from :
http://www.color-rite.com./
It says for gs500 year 1993:
Secondary: Pearl Novelty Black(33J)
Base Coat: None
Color Coat(4067)
I think i will go for a Aerosol can not cheap but easy to use i think!
Thanks!
Rob
If you want to be sure about the model year of your bike, see the recent message thread
GS500k>>What's the deal??!?!?!? (http://www.gstwins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8379&highlight=suffix)
Thanks Kerry!
I will look on my bike... But now i'm pretty sure!
Thanks to all for posting!
Bye,
Rob
For one last triple-check, don't forget the handy-dandy
"GS500 Colors by Year" chart (http://www.gstwin.com/gs_colors.htm)
right here on GStwin.com!
I'd just like to say not all the older ones were plain black. My 89 was black with blue and reddish sparkles in it. So its very possible your bike is the "Novelty Black" As far as paint are you looking for just touch up or paint by the quart? Its possible your Suzuki dealer has touch up paint in stock.
Well i've removed completely decals on the tank!
So now i want to remove the transparent (where was the decals) with some abrasive paper and then repaint with transparent (and if occur with the original color).
I'm just i real ROOKIE with paint and any suggestion is appreciated!
Bye,
Rob
That finish will be a Buddha Loves You to duplicate with amateur means. I'd try to just polish out the edges in the clear with an orbital sander equipped with the wool cap.
Hi MarkusN,
That was worked?
You means that the transparent as gone only with the wool cap?
Maybe you can post some pics?
Thanks for the suggestion!
Rob
