Title: Stripped Header Bolts
Post by: Stime187 on April 30, 2004, 07:51:23 PM
Well, after getting my new F1R slip on welded, bead blasting it and an old set of headers, re-painting the headers flat black to make everything look good again... I went to put the whole setup on and WHAM two stripped header bolts. Seems like they've just gawled the threads and won't come out.

So, anyone got any ideas on how to take them out? Anything crazy or simple, I'll try anything.  :dunno: Stripped bolts are a pain in the ass. Apparently this exhaust has never been removed since 1991.

Thanks,
Scott

You're probably going to have to use ez-outs. Just to warn you though, when they break loose and come out - they may take the threads from the head out with them.I'd have a tap handy in case you need to clean up the threads in the head.

Kind of what I was afraid of... oh well, should be interesting... I do wish there was more space to work right there though...

Thanks for the reply...
