Anybody got the part # for the fram oil filter.. I know some people don't like it, but it's the only brand my local shop carries.

Did I mention that Fram sucks?
Any personal experience(s) you care to relate, James?
I've used FRAM for most of my 30,000 miles with no problems that I know of. But I have a fairly open mind and I'm willing to reconsider, given (non-anecdotal) data....
Definitely watch out for those incorrectly boxed FRAMs GSJack has warned about in a thread somewhere...box says CH6000, but the filter inside has the wrong center-hole diameter (too small).
why doesn't anyone use the suzuki OEM oil filter?
I think under normal riding conditions (not-racing...) a new Fram oil filter works great. There was an issue with the old Fram paper filters and the older style canister filters, but according to tests by Consumer Reports, these issues have been resolved.
Not that I'm any authority on the subject... but I use Castrol GTX oil (changed every 2500 to 3000 miles) and either a Fram oil filter (changed every other oil change...) or a Champion filter if I can find one.
No one uses the OEM filter because they are expensive and it's just a re-labeled ghetto brand anyway...

Fram spin on's came apart in a race a few years ago. They have fixed those issues... or those issues where swept under the rug successfully. Oh yea all companies buy the same damn thing and put their name on it I am sure.
Cool.
