If he rides in front of you expect the "park it in the corners and go really, really fast/pull wheelies in the straights". Be prepared to be really annoyed in corners as you ride up his ass.

LOL I get to ride it home for him, at least he's taking his MSF next month
Title: VFR...

I once surprised a VFR 800 that way with my eli... park it in corners is a feature on my eli, and I was able to stay with him cos he didn't know cornering, in the straights I can out run him. So I was constantly pulling away form him when he didn't ecpect me to.
Cool.
Srinath.

I LOVE Super Hawks.  Let us know how it rides when you bring it home for him.

As for his decision... bad idea for a newby... tell him to buy your bike and you can get his :)  ...you didn't advise him to get something else?

While the power curve is pretty linear, he still needs to be careful.  If he's too hamfisted, that rear tire will spin up and he can get tossed.  65++ ft lbs of torque at the rear wheel is a bit to handle for someone with zero experience.

A buddy of mine got a 1000 SuperHawk a couple weeks ago, we went riding today for about 60 miles... we traded bikes for about 15 min and all I can say is DAMN, that thing will haul! It actually cornered surprisingly well for being a 1000cc (felt more like a 600), the GS still has him slightly in corners but the straights were absurd. He's pretty experienced though, just thought I'd comment.
