i have only been riding my bike for a few weeks now after i purchased it from this jerk aroud town. now the engine is seized and i need help. i hope that you folks can give me some helpful informaiton :thumb: :thumb:

Can you describe how it siezed and what the symptoms are? Won't turn at all with the starter? Can it roll with the clutch in? etc?
the guy that i bought it from said that he just had an oil change. well he lied because wheni broke down the oil was bone dry. i should have checked it but i didn't.

Well, on the good side, such as it is, is that a sick engine isn't the end of the world to a GS. You have a couple of options.
1) fix the bad engine. Most likely it stuck a piston, and the lower end probably survived intact. New cylinders and pistons are only a couple of hundred bucks. If you are handy with a wrench you can do the work yourself, or take it to a shop its should only be a few hundred more.
2)engine swap. Good used GS motors are getable for less than $500. This is the most "easy" way to get it fixed.
Do not call the local place here. They quoted me 850 to replace the head gasket!!!!!!! :o

That sucks dude, you kinda screwed. It depends on the damage. Do you have somewhere to take the engine out (from the frame )
If you can, remove the engine from the bike ( easy, start at the tank & remove stuff ). Take it to a small engine mechanic, the kind that works on mowers & dirtbikes & stuff. That guy can probably tell you the major problems with your engine for less than 50 bucks work. You might need your cylenders bored out and new pistons, or resleeved with new pistons, you may have bent your crank, maybe not. Someone needs to see it, and if it's really screwed any mechanic can tell and this might save you some dealer coin?
You've learned an expensive lesson, but it's not just you man.
