Title: Valve shim question with Megacycle cams.
Post by: D-Day on May 11, 2004, 06:52:01 AM
Any one here put a set of Megacycle cams in their GS?  They grind them down, so the clearance is greater, and I know that I will have to put thicker shims in to get the clearance right, but I don't think the factory makes a shim thick enough to make up the difference.

Anyone have experience/knowledge on this issue?

Thanks,
Paul

dont confuse regrinding with grinding down, wait, i just did it :?

KKKKKK, try gain, like you send your valve slappers to mega cycle/ web cams, joe's liqures and machining... they like pop it in an over and roast till nice and hot, weld metal ontop of the wear area making it like really thik, and then like Regrind, in a totaly narly way dude, leaving you with difference of lift and Duration other then what it began its cosmic GS life as, he hehe he, this now new and totaly holy cam/ lobe profile can end up being a tighter fit making you bust out the thinner shims to make peace with radicle new breath maker..........................

umm...what ever the surfer guy said. 8)  You may want to ask some of the racers who have installed other cams.
