Post by: Ed_in_Az on May 14, 2004, 08:49:22 PM
I installed a new voltage regulator and it cured my problem with the lights dimming. Lights are brighter overall too.

what year Gs you got? I hope this isn't an issue with the later GS's . I had a 1978 GS550 that had the same problem and burned out the stator before i could get it diagnosed properly and get parts. :(
Glad to hear you got it fixed.

When you say dimming, do you mean the slight dim of the headlight when you're at idle and maybe hitting the brake?  I notice my headlight gets brighter off idle but I figured it was normal  :dunno:

Nah, this was dim...bright...dim. Anytime it wanted. Really not cool at night. :o Also the turn signals would go from normal(slow) to hyper depending on RPM. Lights are bright now and turn signals are normal(slow) regardless of RPM.
