I think you were just bored today.
:P
I wear a helmet do to saftey, after my first and all too nasty accedent i see what protection it gave me. my accedent was at 15 mph, or thats what the speedo read at impact of the guardrail just before i went over the bars,(didnt hurt the bike at all, no scratchs, no broken mirrors or lights, no dents in tank.) me, i bouned face first and flipped onto my back. this is ALSO why i wear a heavy jacket even if its 108 degrees, broken glass and car trim about gutted me like a fish, if i wernt damn near 300lbs of Huge gut at the time, i would have had the first GI bypass outa need of repairs. the damage was through the fat and minor muscle damage. this put me in hospital about 3 weeks and 2 months on couch for the wound to heal inside out. the packing havening to be changed 3x perday, NOT FUN. now, upon looking at the helmet which was unuseable after, i would have lost my face from just above brow, clear down past my chin, this means, i would have lost my eyes, nose, and the ability to eat food or talk. providing i lived from the injury ontop of my head. when my helmet was brought to me, i tryed to open the shield and the broke in half from the deep score marks running from top to chin. all in all, the damages, if i had on a good denum jacket along with my helmet, i would have caught my breath, gotten back on my bike and gone back to work as i had no other injuries. i count the helmet as a requirment, not a option, i dont even see half shells or any open face as an option. if your not going to wear protection to minimise your injuries as much as posible, then dont even call the EMS when you go down, little jimmy or susie deserves to toss flowers on your coffin. funerals cost the public less then your repairs and rehab.

No helmet law in Indiana, no helmet discount, I wear it for head protection (95% of the time), and don't wear it because of research.
