Title: GS500 stand?
Post by: Stime187 on May 19, 2004, 07:39:08 AM
So, I've been looking around for a stand (not really sure what the "true" name is), but its what you can slide under the rear wheel (or front) and just lift the back of the bike up. Basically like the center stand. Anyone know a good place to get one or maybe even have one they'd like to sell? I'm planning on taking off the nasty center stand and this would allow me to still check my oil and doing everything like that.

Thanks,
Scott

They are called rear or paddock stands.

Pitbulls are some of the best you can buy.
You can get cheaper ones, but remember the old saying about getting what you pay for?  Do an ebay search and it should turn up some used ones for fairly cheap.

Remember to get the kind for bikes without spools (the ends look like L- brackets instead of forks). unless you want to drill and install some on your swingarm.

Scroll down a little.

I've been looking at these.  Its both front and back universal stands for $99 bucks.  I think it will work. :dunno:  Does somebody know if the front stand will work on the GS?

If you want to build a set.......I have drawings of the the stands that I use on my TLR since the Pit-Bulls are need for the GS. Note that the width will need to be altered to fit the narrower GS.
