Title: Anyone in Tenn/NC are the cicadas out in force?

I live in lower AL and I've been telling my wife how awesome the 17 year cicadas are to see/hear in person.  Anyone in TN/NC got swarms of them yet?  I want to take her there for the peak.

I'm in Johnson City, TN (northeast corner) and have not seen a one. Have heard them at night, but not significant yet.

I'm in triad of NC.   I've never seen one.   I've only seen the shells those things leave behind, but have never seen a live one.

june bugs, on the other hand.....  :x

but they're not out yet either   :dunno:
