Title: bar end screw in missing on suburban handlebar?
Post by: dublinjail on May 21, 2004, 02:52:44 PM
Pantablo, just got the bars and have installed and have gone to put barends on and there's no way to screw it in. on the stock bars there's a threaded thing in there. do I take those out? If anyone has an idea let me know. thanks.. it's just hollow...Am I missing something, should they be there? Thanks guys...

ah yes, those screw in type bar ends. Forgot that the newer stock bars dont have them and are hollow as are the suburbans. The newer barends have a rubber donut on the end that expands when you screw it in to secure them. Run them without the barends for now until you get bar end mirrors (?!) or newer style bar ends....

New problem, bike is idleing reall high in the 7's. took off the throttle body just holding it now in the same cable position within the housing  and it's going normal, slide it back on, high revs. Any ideas.

wierd. but I'd GUESS you have to adjust your throttle cable(s). Mine were fine with those bars though. My being a 2001 may have something to do with it. Yours being older may have had someone messing with the cables some and may be out of stock adjustment but still working...or something.

Sounds like the cable is being pushed and is accelerating the carbs. You may need to readjust.
