Title: breaking out the single barrel bourbon!
Post by: dublinjail on May 21, 2004, 05:24:45 PM
Well the good news is that the suburban machinary bars I bought from pantablo look great, and my old bars were definetly bent, but i just put myself out of commision for the next few days. In my haste I snapped the throttle cable adjuster, which leaves it hanging and combine that with the throttle cable itself not wanting to be long enough (which caused me to snap the damn thing) without revinng at 7+ I've decided to begin drinking-the good stuff.) so please excuse my disregard for spelling, I'm drained and getting buzzed. Looks like fishing is in the forecast. I can recall reading other threads of dispair and feeling their pain so here it's my turn. Usually this would drive me crazy, but I'm feeling that this is a toy and I should look at it accordingly and have fun.  First I felt that I should just hump it to the local dealer and let him rip me off in the process of saving my ass, but I'm considering tackling the project myself. Thanks to kerry and pantablo for the reply's this afternoon. You guys set the tone for a great forum and it 's appreciated!

I like bourbon, but can I make a suggestion?

Just buy another bike.  That way you'll have two, and if one needs some work, you can ride the other.    :)    :)    :)    :)    :)

Thats a great idea! I'm gonna call my boss and demand that incentive they say we get.

That worked great for me.  Then along came Richard.  I was in no particular hurry to sell, but he was in quite a hurry to buy....

My '99 was down for 4? 5? months while I dragged my heels on diagnosing an electrical problem.  But like SmoothDave says, part of the reason I was able to drag my heels was that I had the '96 waiting in the wings!

when in doubt, gas it...I mean drink. LOL.

I feel for ya Dublinjail. Should've just gone right on. Sometimes that's how those "simple" things go. I've had my share for sure.

Good luck and you will LOVE the bars. So much and better feedback from the front and the different weight bias makes the bike turn quicker!
