Hey, has anyone ordered from Newport Cycle parts (newportcycleparts.com) recently? I put in an order for turn signals and a couple other things, and I've been waiting over 2 weeks for items from these guys :( Didn't get an order confirmation email! Email and phone hasn't been successful, and they deducted from my card (debit card, so I'm SOL I think) Seems like they're permenantly away from the phone :x
Anyways, I just wanted to see if anyone knew something, and other than that, warn people until I get some sort of reply from these people. :dunno:
same thing happen with me when i order lockhart short stalks from ridegear, most of these places dont have the item in stock in there warehouses, the have to odr from the manufacturer dealer warehouse then get it to their warehouse and then ship it.
I understand that, but I can't get in touch with these people! Then they could tell me if it was in stock or not?
I'm gonna order elsewhere and suck it up :P
Call up your credit card company and tell them what happened, they might ask you to wait a week or so. Then you can file a dispute, which might be a form at the back of your credit card statement. Fill it up, give as much info as possible (xerox of bill, etc.), then send it in. The CC will investigate and will talk to the merchant. Usually that can get your parts sorted out, otherwise the CC could do a chargeback and you get your $$$ back. All is not lost. Give it a try.
I have just done the same thing. Got ripped off on ebay :dunno:, emailed to paypal and their investigation says that the seller (I was buyer) was at fault, but only refunded me $1.07, case closed :? (I paid $41.95). Ebay and PayPal doesn't really give a shaZam! about things like this. Anyway, that was not acceptable, so I called up my CC and filed a dispute, and just 30 minutes ago I just got an email from paypal saying that they are talking to my CC about the chargeback. Paypal is saying that they are working with the CC to resolve this (rrrrrright, after they have already resolved it for $1.07). Unfortunately, money talks loudest, so have your CC talk money with the merchant. Don't let it ruffle your feathers either way. more important things in life await. Like riding your GS. :thumb:
Cheers,
e.
I've been waiting for someone else to have the same problem. First I ordered two sets of turn signals which came to around $40 with shipping. Then I checked my account and they charged me twice. So I tired to e-mail them 3 times... no response. I tried calling them as well but it just rings and rings no answer. So I called my bank and they said I have to wait one month from the date it went through so I should be reimbursed soon. NEWPORT CYCLE PARTS :nana:
i had the same thing with ebay/paypal. i got ripped on a computer for $500. After about a month trying to get paypal to refund me the money or give me contact info i called discover. they put the refund on my account the next day...sent me some paper work and told paypal they situation. i dont think the cc company will pay paypal if you complain so they pretty much have to give you the money back if its a legit complaint. i dont know how it works with a debit card though. i would definately give them a call though
Debit cards and Credit cards are two different animals. Debit cards suck, I don't know why ANYONE would use one. They're connected directly to your bank account. Get a credir card and use it for all your purchases and then pay it off monthly.

Yeah... I know, I know... Maybe now I can put some breathing room on my credit card now that I have work... Wanted replace my old set that was bugging out and get my bike inspected so it would be legal if the cops were to get picky. ummm... so what's Latin for 'Let the buyer beware?'
:dunno_white:
